Sabre has had a mobile WAP version of their popular Sabre Virtually There notification service since the late 90’s. But with the rise in popularity web-enabled mobile devices it was time to update the platform to the more powerful and flexible XTML-MP mobile specification.
In addition to updating the presentation layer, the click stream was completely re-imagined to make it much easier and effect to navigate even to the deepest parts of the application.
With literally thousands of web-enabled devices and hundreds of mobile browsers, we had to be very thorough in testing and debugging some of the quirks. Boy, and I though developing for the desktop web was tricky…
