Dear iPhone developers, dig deeper.

Today is iPhone 2.0 day and I’m disappointed in how few application that really take advantage of the iPhone’s revolutionary platform. In fact, a good chunk of applications are just websites (not iPhone websites, desktop websites) dumped into a local applications or apps using the stock interface builder widgets. Where is the imagination?

The (almost) perfect Mac backup solution

Sorry Windows folks, Mac only.
I really like, no, love Leopard’s Time Machine backup feature. It’s transparency is perfect for me. I plugged in my drive, turned on Time Machine, and forgot about it.

Leopard text effects

Veerle posted a great tutorial on how to recreate Leopard’s “inset” text effect in Photoshop and Illustrator.
I wanted to offer up alternative way to recreate it in Photshop. Like Veerle’s method, I use layer styles, however instead of using a drop shadow I use a gradient stroke on the text.
